About New China hut # 3 (downtown Aurora)

Located at 140 S River St Unit 100, Aurora, IL 60506, New China hut # 3 (downtown Aurora) operates as a cantonese restaurant serving Aurora in Illinois. In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Aurora; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–8:30 pm. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (630) 966-2626. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is order.online, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 3.8 out of 5 from 516 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Nicest folks with the best Chinese food in Aurora. That's all I had to say at first, but then I read the rest of the reviews and couldn't believe what other folks are saying about this place. I've been here over and over, so have my friends. The staff are incredibly polite, and the food is great. I've never had to wait for a very long time EVER. If something is wrong with my order (which is so rare that it only happened once), they immediately fixed it. I've seen customers act up and doordash/Uber eats drivers give them attitude, and I listen in because I'm nosy like that. So far, it hasn't been the employee's fault yet. People have been mad that they don't have enough money, and get angrier when they don't get free food. Delivery drivers get mad because the cooks can't magically create a dinner for 6 people in two minutes. TLDR: Bad reviews are usually people making stuff up because they're mad. China Hut #3 has good food and great customer service.

They charge you 1 dollar for each Shrimp jumbo, but they give you only a few pieces or some much smaller than they promised, we paid for 12 and only received 8, we told the lady that we wanted a refund and they completely refused to do it, they have terrible customer service. Not to mention that the flavor is not so good

I hadn't eaten from New China Hut in a long time but I was downtown and Chinese sounded good so I placed an order for the Empress Chicken dinner but paid a little extra to substitute a combination fried rice for the chicken fried rice. The empress chicken and fried rice were really good with generous portions for both and a good mixture of shrimp, beef, chicken and pork in the rice. I've had better egg rolls though and wasn't a fan of the sweet and sour dipping sauce that came in a cup with the meal. It was just a little too sweet for my taste. The meal was good overall and the takeout order was prepared really fast. The staff were nice on the phone and when I was picking up my order but at a cost of $20 I will probably consider going to other places next time I’m in the mood for Chinese takeout.

I originally ordered this for my family because we wanted to do dinner together. I think the portion sizes are amazing and the prices are great, but I was extremely disappointed in the food quality. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was dark and stale. The rice just tastes like a ton of soy sauce was added and that’s it. The noodles were kinda burnt and so they were a bit off on flavor. The orange chicken didn’t have any zest to it, and neither did the general tso chicken. Both were like 65% breading and hardly any chicken meat. It also felt like I was eating low quality chicken nugget meat. Honestly the best thing they had provided was the crab rangoon and egg roll. Needless to say I won’t be giving them a second chance just because of a bad first experience. Sorry!

Reading some of these reviews and I’m super confused. They must have the wrong place, I’ve been eating here for years. My family and me think the food here is great! We’ve tried other Chinese restaurants in the area and this one definitely has the best tasting food. There’s two other restaurants that are closer to my house but I rather drive a little more for the quality. They were on vacation a few weeks ago and we gave another place a shot, but that was a mistake. The consistency is the best. Prices are extremely fair for the portions you get; usually enough for leftovers too. Regarding the reviews about lady/owner, I’ve never experienced any rudeness or anything, might just be some sort of cultural differences and expectations but she’s cool to me and nice to my kids. Love this place
